More than 2 thousand children across the Central Coast are enjoying the happiness of the holidays after ACT Finance, Ventura RV Connection and El Latino Central Coast Newspaper gave and are still giving away free toys in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.

The toy festivals “Navidad Para Todos” (“Christmas for All)”, first took place at the Ventura RV Connection offices in Oxnard on December 13th, where more than 2,500 toys were given to local children and their families.

“This is something that we have been doing for the last three years in Oxnard and now we want to bring the same joy to families and their children here in Santa Barbara.” QUOTE?

“We want to be able to give back something to a community that has given us a lot by trying to bring happiness to their children,” said Gabriel Ulloa, Regional Manager for ACT Finance.

Hundreds of families lined up outside Ventura RV Connection from early in the morning with the goal to get toys for their kids at 2:00 p.m., when the event kicked off.

Manuel Rivera, his wife Graciela and their two children, Anabelle, 9, and Marco, 6, stood in line since 10 a.m. on that cold Sunday morning but the father said it “was worth it”.

“We heard about the event on the radio and since then my kids have been asking us to bring them to get some toys and that is why we are here. It is cold and we have been in line for at least three hours but we don’t care, because this is time we spend as a family,” said Mr. Rivera of Oxnard.

The Oxnard event was such a success: 2,200 toys were given. DJs from “Radio Lazer” kept the crowd excited and content while they did raffles for electronic items such as flat screen TVs, tablets, and gift cards.

But the attendees not only left with the happiness from receiving a gift, but also with a full stomach since Tacos “Don Chente” donated food for everyone at the event.
