Troncoso faces 10 felony counts, including three counts of attempted murder, one count of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of robbery, and two counts of attempted robbery. The charges also include special allegations, such as inflicting great bodily injury.

The defendant’s arraignment was scheduled for Nov. 26, 2024, but no plea was entered. Criminal proceedings have been temporarily suspended pending a determination of Troncoso’s mental competency. A hearing is set for Dec. 19, 2024, at 9 a.m. in courtroom 13 of the Ventura County Superior Court.

Authorities allege that on Nov. 23, 2024, Troncoso carried out a string of violent attacks in downtown Ventura. According to the Ventura Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a man on a bicycle had stabbed a victim in the back. As police assisted the first victim, another call came in reporting a second individual stabbed multiple times in the neck.

Minutes later, a third victim was struck in the head with a metal object and robbed. Shortly after, a fourth 911 call reported a robbery at knifepoint, in which the suspect allegedly stole the victim’s keys.

The case is being prosecuted by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office Serious Violent Felonies Unit.

Troncoso remains in custody without bail.
