Bruce Boyer, 63, of Chatsworth, has been charged with four felony counts of perjury for allegedly submitting multiple fraudulent voter registration applications, Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced Wednesday.
Boyer appeared in court for the first time, and his arraignment was continued to Jan. 17, 2025.
Boyer is accused of submitting four fake voter registration forms to the Ventura County Registrar in the months leading up to the November 2024 election. Each form was handwritten and attempted to register fictitious characters to vote, listing Boyer’s home address and bearing his signature under penalty of perjury.
“Our office is dedicated to safeguarding the integrity of the election process and ensuring that every vote is lawful,” Nasarenko said. “Those who attempt to compromise this process will be held accountable.”
The Ventura County Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters Office initially flagged the suspicious forms, prompting an investigation by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation. Senior Deputy District Attorney Tony Wold, of the Public Integrity Unit, is prosecuting the case.
Boyer was released on his own recognizance.
