On October 26, at approximately 5:39 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) conducted a subject stop on two documented Colonia Chiques gang members at the intersection of First St and Juanita Ave.

Officers had prior knowledge that both subjects were on active probation.  During the contact with the subjects, one subject fled from officers.  During the foot pursuit, the subject discarded the firearm from their waistband.

The subject, identified as Isaiah Rodriguez, was subsequently captured and arrested.  Rodriguez was ultimately arrested for various firearms violations and booked into Ventura County Jail.  Rodriguez, who is a documented Oxnard criminal street gang member, was previously convicted for illegal firearms possession, a felony.
