New executive leader poised to guide equity and access to quality health care for Medi-Cal beneficiaries in Ventura County.
Gold Coast Health Plan (GCHP) today announced the appointment of Eve Gelb as its new Chief Innovation Officer. With a proven track record of success, Eve will serve in a critical role, helping drive excellence, innovation, and quality care for GCHP’s more than 250,000 Medi-Cal members.
“As part of Gold Coast Health Plan’s mission to continue to build and improve equity and access across the Medi-Cal system of services and supports in Ventura County, we thoughtfully added a Chief Innovation Officer position to our Executive Team – which itself is an innovation for the organization,” said Nick Liguori, GCHP’s Chief Executive Officer. “Eve will lead the way as we improve the execution and integration of complex, mission-critical and strategic initiatives that will ultimately lead to better outcomes for our members, greater access to quality care, and a superior member experience.”
Gelb is a highly regarded health care leader in the Medicare space and has a long- standing reputation as a collaborator. Over the last 25 years, she held progressive roles at SCAN Health Plan, working with nearly every part of the organization while operating with a strong sense of mission and commitment to members. She joined SCAN Health Plan in 1997 as a trainer in health care services and concluded her time with the organization as Senior Vice President of Duals, or those with both Medicare and Medi-Cal coverage.
Over the years, she was tapped to lead and direct several critical organizational shifts, elevating her role in the company with each change. Throughout her tenure with SCAN, she held the positions of Director of Geriatric Practice Innovation, Senior Vice President of Health Care Services, and Senior Vice President of Member and Community Health.
“I was inspired by the mission and great work Gold Coast Health Plan is doing to embrace innovation to provide quality care and service to members,” said Gelb. “I’m excited to bring my experience from developing and implementing training programs to leading operations and driving innovation to advance GCHP’s overarching goal, which is to create equity and access to quality health care for all members.”
Gelb joins an exceptional team of executive leaders that is poised to help transform GCHP into a leading health care plan. Her role as Chief Innovation Officer will have an immediate impact on GCHP’s capacity and capability for health plan improvement as the organization strives to build equity and access to quality health care for all members.
As part of the Executive Team, Gelb will be instrumental in supporting and strengthening organizational goals, initiatives, and work plans; and pioneering an Operating Steering Committee that will improve the execution and integration of complex, mission- critical, and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and new business developments.
She will also be a major contributor to advancing the financial and operational readiness to operate a Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) by 2026.
“We are building a team that is driven to create the health plan of the future – today – and we are confident that Eve will positively impact how we are improving the conventions of the managed health care industry by creating and applying leading-edge solutions to its many challenges,” Liguori said. “We are delighted to have her on our team.”
