The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced today that Matthew Glenn Longwill (DOB 08/25/74), of Ventura, has been charged with one felony count of possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). He pled not guilty at today’s arraignment.
Longwill was arrested on August 5, 2024, following an investigation by the Ventura Police Department. He is accused of storing a large quantity of suspected CSAM on his laptop computer, which he had turned in for repair at a local computer store. Officers obtained a search warrant for his home and located more suspected CSAM on other electronic devices allegedly belonging to Longwill.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Marc Leventhal, a member of the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office Special Prosecutions Fraud and Technology Crimes Unit, is prosecuting the case.
Longwill’s next scheduled court date is an early disposition conference set for September 26, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 11 of the Ventura County Superior Court. He remains out of custody on $50,000 bail and is prohibited from having contact with minors as a condition of his release.
