“As someone who grew up, got my first job, received an excellent education, and started a family on the Central Coast, I am profoundly grateful to continue serving this community in Congress,” said Rep. Carbajal. “From the rising cost of living to national challenges like climate change, gun violence, and far-right extremism threatening our fundamental civil rights, there are countless issues facing our families and communities. I am committed to working with anyone to find solutions, improve quality of life, and address the challenges we face on the Central Coast.”

In his previous term, Rep. Carbajal contributed to legislation addressing chemical contamination in groundwater near Central Coast airports, increasing transparency in military housing for service members, enhancing federal efforts to combat the fentanyl crisis, and strengthening the cybersecurity of America’s nuclear systems.

Over the past year, his efforts helped secure more than $1.4 billion in federal grants for the region, according to USASpending.gov. Additionally, his office assisted more than 1,300 Central Coast families in resolving issues with federal agencies.

Rep. Carbajal, who was first elected to Congress in 2016, has called the Central Coast home for over 40 years. A graduate of UC Santa Barbara and Fielding University, he served for 12 years on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors before beginning his tenure in federal office.
