A Ventura County jury has found Dustin Ronald Alba, a 30-year-old Oxnard resident, guilty of nine felony counts, including forcible rape, sodomy, and other sexual assaults committed against five women between 2012 and 2020.

The verdict was reached on June 9, 2025, after an extensive trial that also confirmed several aggravating factors, such as the existence of multiple victims, victim vulnerability, and Alba’s abuse of a position of trust.
According to Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko, Alba’s crimes occurred in several Southern California cities, including Thousand Oaks, Oxnard, and Los Angeles. The victims—many of whom met Alba through dating apps or social media—described being forced into sexual acts despite expressing their refusal.
“The defendant used his physical strength to pin the women down and ignored their repeated pleas to stop,” the DA’s office said in a statement.
One of the most recent incidents took place in August 2020, when Alba met a woman in person after connecting on a dating app. The victim had clearly told him she was not interested in a sexual relationship. After spending the day together, they returned to Alba’s residence in Oxnard. There, he tore off her clothes, threw her on the bed, and sexually assaulted her, including digital penetration and rape. Terrified, the victim complied. Once she was free, she reported the incident to the police.
During the investigation, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office examined Alba’s phone and discovered text messages that revealed other women had also been sexually assaulted and raped by him. Further investigation led to the identification of four additional victims, one of whom was a minor at the time of the abuse.
Deputy District Attorney Rosa Romero, a member of the Ventura County District Attorney’s Sexual Assault Unit, prosecuted the case.
“I am sincerely grateful to the jury for their careful and thoughtful review of all the evidence,” Romero said. “While justice for these victims was delayed, the verdict shows it was not denied. I truly hope this decision gives the victims a sense of closure as they continue their healing process.”
Alba remains in custody without bail and faces a maximum sentence of 111 years to life in state prison. Sentencing is scheduled for July 9, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 25 of the Ventura County Superior Court.
