On 04/18/2023, at approximately 14:40 hours, Simi Valley Police Officers responded to a stabbing that occurred inside of Wal-Mart located in the city of Simi Valley.
Simi Valley Police Officers arrived on scene and located one subject suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Simi Valley Police Officers also located other store employees who had been assaulted. Simi Valley Police Officers identified the suspect in the stabbing and assaults as Austin Allen Eis, a 24-year-old male transient.
At approximately 1521 hours, deputies assigned to the Camarillo Police Department responded to a subject disturbing call in the 3000 block of Shadetree Way in the city of Camarillo.
Deputies learned Eis had entered a family member’s residence without permission, threatening multiple occupants inside with a knife and brandishing a firearm. Eis fled the area prior to the victims calling 911 and prior to deputies arriving on scene.
At approximately 1538 hours, deputies assigned to the Thousand Oaks Police Department responded to a call of a traffic collision involving injury in the 4000 block of Thousand Oaks Boulevard, near Westlake High School. The involved vehicle in the traffic collision had collided with numerous juvenile victims, fatally injuring a juvenile.
The driver was identified by deputies on scene as Austin Allen Eis. Eis was apprehended on scene by deputies.
Eis was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura for 187(a) PC – Murder, PC 664/187 – Attempted Murder, PC 69 – Resisting Executive Officer, PC 417 – Brandishing a Deadly Weapon, 664/PC 211 – Attempted Robbery, and PC 245 – Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Eis remains in custody on $5,000,000 bail. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Ventura County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Detective Robert DeLaCerda at (805) 384-4724.
