Two Los Angeles men are facing felony charges after allegedly breaking into a Thousand Oaks auto dealership and stealing a 2026 Chevrolet Corvette worth more than $105,000, according to Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko.
The defendants are accused of carrying out the theft during the early morning hours of May 19, 2026, after traveling from Los Angeles to a GMC Buick dealership located in the Thousand Oaks Auto Mall. Prosecutors allege the pair unlawfully entered the dealership and drove away with the high-performance sports car.
One of the suspects, identified as Ivy, is also charged with having a prior strike conviction, which could result in enhanced penalties if convicted.
Investigation Leads to Major Recovery of Stolen Luxury Vehicles
The case expanded beyond the initial Corvette theft after detectives with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspects through their investigation.
Following surveillance operations and the arrests of both defendants, investigators executed search warrants at multiple locations in Los Angeles.
During those searches, detectives recovered numerous stolen vehicles linked to crimes in several jurisdictions, including a Lamborghini. Authorities estimate the combined value of the recovered vehicles exceeds $1.3 million.
Despite those recoveries, the stolen 2026 Chevrolet Corvette taken from the Thousand Oaks dealership has not yet been located.
Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko praised investigators for uncovering what appears to be a broader vehicle theft operation.
«The outstanding work of Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives not only identified the suspects in this case but also led to the recovery of numerous stolen vehicles connected to crimes in other communities,» Nasarenko said. «This investigation demonstrates how strong police work and regional cooperation can disrupt organized auto theft rings and protect victims well beyond Ventura County.»
Defendants Plead Not Guilty
The case is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Brandon Yeaton, a member of the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office Auto Theft Unit.
At their arraignment, both Ivy and Taylor entered not guilty pleas to the charges filed against them.
The defendants are scheduled to return to court for an early disposition conference on August 5, 2026.
Prosecutors objected to their release; however, the court ordered that both men be released on their own recognizance while the case proceeds.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not announced whether additional charges or arrests are expected in connection with the recovered stolen vehicles.
