Detectives de la Unidad de Delitos Mayores y el personal de la cárcel están investigando la muerte de un recluso que se produjo en una cárcel de Ventura.
El 27 de enero aproximadamente a las 3:30 a.m., mientras agentes realizaban una inspección en las bartolinas del lugar, ellos notaron que un preso no respiraba y estaba inconsciente.
De acuerdo con las autoridades personal médico de la cárcel brindaron servicios de primeros auxilios al invididuo.
Personal del Departamento de Bomberos y paramédicos fueron llamados para proporcionar más apoyo de emergencia más avanzados, pero en última instancia, poco después el recluso fue declarado muerto en la cárcel.
La causa de la muerte está siendo investigada por la Unidad de Delitos Mayores, en espera de la autopsia por el médico forense.
Las autoridades indican que no habían indicios de violencia o circunstancias sospechosas en la victima.
Como cuestión de política y procedimientos, todas las muertes de presos son investigadas por la agencia antes mencionada.
MUJER ES GOLPEADA EN ROBO OXNARD
Oficiales del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard (OXPD), respondieron a una llamada de robo a una residencia el pasado viernes, donde se determinó que dos sospechosos habían logrado entrar a través de una ventana abierta.
La víctima, una mujer, estaba dentro de la residencia enfrentándose a los sospechosos, por lo que fue agredida físicamente y secuestrada por un tiempo por los sospechosos antes de darse a la fuga con propiedad robada.
Según el OXPD la mujer fue capaz de liberarse de sus ataduras y se contactó con un vecino que, posteriormente, se puso en contacto con las autoridades para obtener ayuda.
Los miembros de la Unidad de Delitos Violentos del OXPD respondieron a la residencia, y fueron capaces de identificar rápidamente a dos posibles sospechosos.
Los individuos fueron identificados positivamente por la víctima.
Los investigadores, junto con la Unidad de Ejecución Especial Departamento de Policía de Oxnard, fueron capaces de localizar a los sospechosos, quienes ahora están en custodia.
ARRESTADO POR DELINCUENTE SEXUAL

El sospechoso, ahora bajo custodia, había sido detenido ya por la OXPD en agosto del año pasado cuando envió material dañino a quien él sabía era una menor con quien había quedado de encontrarse también en público para después realizar actos sexuales.
En la actualidad estaba en libertad bajo fianza por dichos crímenes.
El OXPD recuerda al público a ser diligentes en la supervisión de la actividad en línea de sus hijo(a)s para asegurarse que estén protegidos y seguros.

MUERE EN RESTAURANTE DE OXNARD
El pasado jueves oficiales del OXPD respondieron a una llamada de emergencia de un negocio en localizado en la cuadra 1600 de West Gonzales Rd., para comprobar la salud de una persona que estaba en el baño del lugar.

VIOLENCIA GOLPEA Y PREOCUPA A SM
La intranquilidad y temor siguen creciendo entre los residentes de Santa María, después de toda la violencia que ha ido en aumento últimamente en dicha ciudad, sobre todo después de las dos muertes producidas la semana pasada.
El Departamento de Policía de Santa María (SMPD), reveló la identidad de las víctimas que murieron durante un doble tiroteo la noche del lunes pasado.
Los investigadores dicen que Agustín Jaime Montano-Barajas de 29 años de edad, y, Alexis Morales 25, fueron encontrados sin vida dentro de un auto estacionado en la calle S. Elizabeth.
Como parte de la inseguridad que los residentes de Santa Maria viven, el canal de noticias local KEYT-KKFX informó que la familia de Montano Barajas no quisó salir en cámara, alegando que no se sienten seguros de hacerlo.
Los familiares indican que la víctima era padre de cuatro hijos y que su rutina habitual era ir a trabajar y volver directamente después a casa.
Al mismo tiempo, ellos dicen que no saben quién pudo haberle hecho esto a Montano Barajas.

MADRE ARRESTADA POR ASESINATO
La madre de 15 años que dio a luz a su hijo en una residencia de SM ha sido detenida por el SMPD este fin de semana debido a la muerte del bebé.
El 17 de enero, los oficiales fueron llamados al Hospital Marian de dicha ciudad, para investigar circunstancias sospechosas de una paciente.
La investigación reveló que una madre adolescente había tenido a un bebé en una casa en SM.
Los oficiales fueron a la residencia donde descubrieron un recién nacido fallecido.
La autopsia reveló, tres días después, que el recién nacido murió a consecuencia de lesiones traumáticas, eso fue suficiente razón para que el SMPD abriera una investigación de asesinato que dio lugar a la detención.
La madre está detenida bajo custodia, pero debido a su edad, no se dio a conocer su nombre.
El SMPD recuerda a la comunidad que hay recursos disponibles para ayudar a prevenir los embarazos no deseados, o ayudar a las personas en crisis para hacer frente a los embarazos.

Major Crime’s detectives and Jail personnel are investigating an inmate death that occurred at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura.
On January 27 at approximately 3:30 a.m., while conducting a cell check, deputies noticed an inmate not breathing and unresponsive.
According to the authorities emergency aid was rendered by deputies and Jail medical staff.
Ventura City Fire personnel and AMR paramedics were summoned to provide more advanced life saving efforts, but ultimately the inmate was pronounced dead at the jail shortly thereafter.
The cause of death is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau, pending an autopsy by the Medical Examiner.
There was no indication of violence or suspicious circumstances.
As a matter of policy and procedures, all inmate deaths are investigated by the agency mentioned above.
WOMAN IS ASSALTED IN A ROBBERY IN OXNARD
Oxnard Police (OXPD), officers responded to a call of a burglary to a residence, last Friday where they determined that two suspects had gained entry into a residence through an unlocked window.
Female victim was inside the residence and confronted the suspects, where she was physically assaulted and restrained by the suspects prior to leaving the residence with stolen property.
According to the OXPD the female was able to break free from her restraints and contacted a neighbor who subsequently contacted the Oxnard Police Department for assistance.
Members of the OXPD Violent Crimes Unit responded to the residence and were able to quickly identify two possible suspects.
The suspects were positively identified by the victim.
Investigators, along with the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit, were able to locate the suspects and take them into custody.

ARRESTED FOR SEXUAL OFFENDER
Last week detectives from the OXPD’s Sexual Assault and Family Protection Unit (FPU) arrested a man for pursuing a minor into a sexual communication via internet.
Shawn Light was arrested for initiating contact with who he believed to be a 16 year old female and engaged her in sexual conversations.
The authorities put an undercover operation targeting adults within the City limits who contact children online for the purposes of engaging in lewd and sexual activities.
During these online contacts, Light made arrangements to meet the child in a public place for the purposes of engaging in sexual acts.
Mr. Light is no stranger to engaging in on-line conversations with what he believes to be minor females.
The suspect, now in custody was previously arrested by the OXPD in August of last year when he sent harmful matter to who he believed was a minor child and had arranged to meet her in public for the purposes engaging in sexual acts.
He is currently out on bail for those crimes.
The OXPD reminds the public to be diligent in supervising their children’s activity online to ensure they are protected and safe.

MAN DIES INSIDE RESTAURANT IN OXNARD
Last Thursday officers from the OXPD responded to a business in the 1600 block of West Gonzales Road to check the well-being of a person in the bathroom.
When officers arrived, they found the person unresponsive, therefore the officers began life saving measures and were later relieved by emergency medical personnel.
The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The deputies learned the decedent’s name was Darren Solis.
Evidence recovered at the scene indicated Solis possibly died from a heroin overdose.
An investigator from the Ventura County Narcotics Task Force responded to the scene.
Also, investigators identified Floyd Johnson of Camarillo as the probable supplier of Solis’ heroin.
VIOLENCE KEEPS HITTING SM
Concerns continue to grow among Santa Maria residents after all of the violence that has been rising lately in the city, especially after the two deaths occurred last week.
The Santa Maria Police Department (SMPD), revealed the identity of the victims killed during a double shooting on Monday night.

SM: MOTHER ARRESTED FOR MURDER
The 15 year old mother that gave birth to her child at a residence has been arrested by SMPD this weekend due to the death of the baby.
On January 17, officers were detailed to Marian Hospital regarding a suspicious circumstance.
The investigation revealed that a teenager mom had delivered a child at a residence in SM.
Officers went to that residence where they discovered a deceased newborn. An autopsy revealed, three days later, the newborn died as a result of traumatic injuries.
That was enough reason for the SMPD to open a murder investigation that resulted in the arrest of the mother.
She is currently being held in custody, but due to her age, her name is not being released.
The SMPD reminds the community there are resources available to help prevent unwanted pregnancies or assist those in crisis to deal with unexpected pregnancies.
The Safely Surrendered Baby Law requires the baby be taken to a public or private hospital, designated fire station, or other safe surrender site.
No questions will be asked and California Penal Code Section 271.5 protects surrendering individuals from prosecution of abandonment.
