The enforcement effort, known as Operation Night Fall, took place from September 21 through October 8, 2026, and was led by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation.

The operation involved assistance from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Oxnard Police Department, Simi Valley Police Department, Ventura Police Department, California State Parole, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Investigators served 24 search warrants, including seven at residential locations, to collect evidence connected to the investigations. Seven individuals were arrested in Ventura County, while an eighth person was placed on a hold for allegedly violating the conditions of his parole.

The individuals charged are accused of offenses involving the production, distribution, or possession of child sexual abuse material, commonly referred to as child pornography.

District Attorney Erik Nasarenko emphasized the importance of coordinated law enforcement efforts in identifying individuals suspected of exploiting children and gathering evidence for criminal proceedings.

“Protecting children from sexual exploitation is a central mission for our office and we will continue to aggressively pursue those who seek to harm them,” Nasarenko said. “Operation Night Fall demonstrates the importance of coordinated law enforcement efforts in identifying offenders, securing critical evidence, and holding those accused accountable.”

The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office works with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), an organization that receives and shares reports concerning possible child sexual exploitation.

The center operates a 24-hour hotline at 1-800-THE-LOST and also accepts reports through its website, missingkids.org.

Authorities encouraged residents to remain alert and report any suspected crime involving a child immediately by calling 911 or contacting local law enforcement.

Operation Night Fall brought together multiple local, state, and federal agencies in an effort to investigate suspected offenses involving child sexual abuse material throughout Ventura County.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
