Se ha creado un altar en Carpinteria en honor de Eric Romero, quien murió la semana pasada, luego de ser agredido el sábado por la madrugada y luego fallecer en el Hospital Cottage.
Amigos y familiares de la víctima de 32 años han dejado flores, velas, notas, gorras e imágenes en su honor, en el sitio donde fue encontrado en la Calle 9th, cerca de la intersección con la calle Linden.
El Departamento del Alguacil del Condado de SB (SBCSO) arrestó a Scott Fleming en relación con el asesinato el pasado 22 de julio.
Los detalles de la pelea aún no se conocen y no está claro qué armas se usaron, si es que las hubo.
Varias notas, escritas con tiza, se encuentran en la escena del memorial improvisado.
Los detectives del Alguacil y la Oficina del Fiscalía del Condado de Santa Bárbara están llevando a cabo una investigación activa.

A memorial has been set up in Carpinteria for Eric Romero who died this week.
He was assaulted Saturday morning and later passed away in Cottage Hospital.
Flowers, candles, notes, hats and pictures have been left in his honor at the site where he was found on Ninth Street near Linden.
The SB County Sheriff’s Office (SBCSO), arrested Scott Fleming in connection with the assault.
The details of the fight are not known and it’s unclear what, if any, weapons were used.
Romero was 32 years old.
Several notes, written in chalk are at the scene of the makeshift memorial.
An active investigation is underway by the Sheriff’s detectives and the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office.
The assault took place at approximately 1:20 a.m., in the 4900 block of 9th street in Carpinteria.
Mr. Romero succumbed to his injurieson July 23 at approximately 9:00 a.m. after he was transported to the hospital in critical condition, he was taken off life support and pronounced dead at the hospital.
Following the discovery of the victim, the Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
During the course of the investigation, 29-year-old Scott Robert Fleming of Carpinteria was identified as the alleged suspect in the assault against Romero, and a warrant was secured for his arrest.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations and Special Operations Bureaus, with the assistance of the Ventura Police Department, located and arrested Fleming without inciden.
He was subsequently booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of Battery causing serious bodily injury, and Assault with great bodily injury.
