El Departamento de Policía de Oxnard (OXPD), arrestó a un hombre de 18 años de edad el viernes por la noche después de un robo a mano ocurrido por la mañana.

Victor Gallegos fue trasladado a la cárcel del Condado de Ventura bajo sospecha de robo a mano armada.

La policía fue llamada a la cuadra 700 S de la Calle G justo después de las 5:30 p.m, donde un hombre de Oxnard de 43 años de edad, les informó que había sido robado a punta de cuchillo.

Aún en la investigación, los agentes fueron contactados por un segundo hombre identificado sólo como un hombre de 38 años de edad, residente de Oxnard, quien dijo que había sido robado por alguien con un cuchillo.

Agentes localizaron a Gallegos en la zona asegurando que tenía algo de la propiedad robada a los dos hombres.

DOS ARRESTADAS POR ROBAR AUTO

Un detective del OXPD encontró un vehículo robado ocupada en el área de Doris Avenue y la calle F que condujo a la detención de Cristal Dimas y Samara alero.

El detective observó una mujer identificada como Dimas manejando un Nissan 200 SX 1998.

Ese vehículo había sido reportado como robado al OXPD sólo horas anteriores, por lo que más agentes llegaron a la zona y realizaron una detención de alto riesgo.

Dimas y su pasajera, Samara Aleros, fueron detenidas sin incidentes.

Dimas fue detenida por posesión de un vehículo de motor robado. Aleros fue detenida por posesión de un vehículo de motor robado y otros cargos relacionados con fraude.

HOMBRE ARRESTADO POR VENDER COCAÍNA

Un hombre de Ventura ha sido detenido por la venta y distribución de narcóticos en la zona, después de la Unidad de Pandillas del Depto. Del Alguacil del Condado de Ventura llevó a cabo un operativo cerca de la Ventura Ave. en Ventura.

Los oficiales observaron varias transacciones “mano a mano” de narcóticos en la cuadra 40 de la calle Ramona West.

Con la ayuda del Departamento de Policía de Ventura, investigadores y detectives de la Unidad Antipandillas identificaron a Adolfo González como el responsable de la distribución de cocaína desde su residencia.

Posteriormente se obtuvo una orden de registro de la residencia de González ‘y sirvió el 15 de abril.

Durante la búsqueda, 196 gramos de cocaína, 1,173 gramos (2.53 libras) de marihuana, 15 plantas maduras de marihuana, una pistola calibre .45 semiautomática y municiones, así como $4,300 en efectivo y pruebas de un laboratorio de butano (BHO) fueron confiscados.

González fue detenido bajo cargos de violación a la salud y seguridad pública, 11351, posesión para la venta de cocaína, 11358, cultivo de marihuana, 11379.6 (a) y fabricación concentrada de cannabis, entre otros cargos.

El sospechoso fue llevado al Centro de detención preventiva y su fianza fue fijada en $250 mil.

Las autoridades informan que los laboratorios de butano son extremadamente peligrosos y propensos a producir explosiones de gran magnitud.

Si sospecha que alguien está involucrado en un laboratorio BHO inmediatamente en contacto con el VTPD para reportar el incidente.

ESTAFA EN GASOLINERAS DE CARPINTERIA

Debido al reciente aumento en el fraude de tarjetas de crédito/débito y robo de identidad, el Departamento del Alguacil del Condado de Santa Bárbara (SBCSD), está advirtiendo a la comunidad de la existencia de dispositivos skimming ilegales de tarjetas de crédito colocados en las bombas de gasolina.

Y es que las autoridades reportaron el hallazgo de algunos han sido recientemente en la zona de dicha ciudad.

Las autoridades dijeron que el robo de identidad son un problema nacional que afecta significativamente los ciudadanos en el Condado de SB.

Una forma en que los ladrones obtienen de información de tarjetas de crédito y débito de la víctima es a través del uso de dispositivos de skimming tarjeta ilegales siendo subrepticiamente colocado en bombas de combustible.

Cuando un ciudadano desprevenido pasa su tarjeta de débito o crédito en la estación de pago en la bomba de combustible, estos dispositivos ilegales capturan la información de tarjeta y el PIN.

Los ladrones luego usan la información para cometer robo de identidad y otros delitos financieros.

Los robos de un solo dispositivo ilegal en una bomba de combustible pueden estar entre $50 mil y $100 mil.

El SBCSD exhorta al público a considerar los siguientes pasos cuando lcompren de combustible, con el fin de reducir el riesgo de ser víctimas de los ladrones de identidad.

Busque los sellos en las bombas de combustible de seguridad. Si los sellos están rotos, cortados o se lee «NULO», no use esa bomba e inmediatamente reportelo al personal de la gasolinera.

PRESENTADORA P.LOPEZ A LA CÁRCEL

El expresentadora de noticias del canal en inglés KCOY 12, Paula López Ochoa, se declaró sin comentarios, de un cargo de conducir bajo la influencia del alcohol, dos cargos de retraso o resistencia contra un agente, un cargo de rehusar a una prueba de alcohol, y un cargo de agresión a un agente del orden público.

En un acuerdo alcanzado por la fiscalía y la defensa el pasado viernes por la mañana, López servirá 120 días en la cárcel del condado, abstenerse de consumir alcohol durante 3 años, y asistirá a 3 reuniones de Alcohólicos Anónimos por semana durante 3 años.

El fiscal y el abogado defensor de López apareció en la Corte Superior del Condado de Santa Bárbara, donde se reunieron con el juez Thomas Andele en privado.

Cámaras y otros dispositivos de grabación han sido prohibidos en los procesos contra López.

El esposo de la presentadora, Frank Ochoa fue por más de 15 años juez en las cortes de SB.

El juez Andele también ordenó a López a que cada seis meses se proporcioné obligatoriamente la prueba del cumplimiento.

Los términos de sentencia de Lopez también incluye tomar el medicamento contra el alcohol Antiabuse durante tres años, y asistir a terapias según las indicaciones de su consejero de salud mental.

Además, completar un curso de educación vial de del DMV de nueve meses.

CHACHUMA LAGO

Una barcaza especial es el Cachuma lago en el condado de Santa Barbara para instalar pilotes para una nueva extensión de la línea de agua.

La línea actual está en un área donde el lago se ha reducido debido a la sequía.

La extensión va a recoger el agua dulce y llevarlo al túnel de Tecolote. A partir de ahí se va a las comunidades de la costa sur, incluyendo Santa Bárbara, Goleta, Montecito y Carpinteria.

Las pilas están siendo machacados en la base del lago con una herramienta especial, pero no parecen estar afectados por el ruido que está bien fuera de la costa huéspedes camping.

HOMBRE DE SM RECIBE PALIZA DE LADRONES

La investigación reveló que la víctima fue abordada por dos hombres adultos latinos en un sedán blanco de 4 puertas que exigió el dinero.

La víctima no ha cumplido con las demandas de los sospechosos y posteriormente fue atacado por los asaltantes.

La víctima perdió la conciencia brevemente antes de despertar y descubrir la propiedad personal no revelada que falta en su persona.

La víctima fue transportada al Centro Médico Marian por traumatismo craneal grave y se encuentra en condición grave.

Los detectives SMPD y técnicos de la escena del crimen fueron llamados para hacerse cargo de la investigación, la cua aún está en curso.

The Oxnard Police Department (OXPD), arrested an 18-year-old man Friday night after an early morning robbery.

Victor Gallegos was booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of armed robbery.

Police were called to the 700 block of South G Street just after 5:30 a.m. where a 43-year-old Oxnard man informed them he had been robbed at knife point.

While investigating, agents were contacted by a second man, identified only as a 38-year-old Oxnard resident, who said he had been robbed by someone with a knife.

Officers located Mr. Gallegos in the area and said he had some of the property stolen from the two men.

The knife used during the robbery was also recovered, according to the OXPD, Gallegos remained jailed Friday on $50,000 bail.

WOMEN ARRESTED FOR AUTO THEFT

A detective from the OXPD Auto Theft Task Force located an occupied stolen vehicle in the area of Doris Avenue and F Street leading to the arrest of Crystal Dimas and Samara Eaves.

The detective observed a female identified as Mrs.Dimas driving a stolen 1998 Nissan 200 SX.

That vehicle had been reported stolen to the OXPDhours earlier. Additional police officers arrived in the area and conducted a high risk stop on the vehicle.

Mrs.Dimas and a female passenger, named Samara Eaves, were taken into custody without incident.

Dimas was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Eaves was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and other fraud related charges.

The OXPD continues to encourage residents to be partners in public safety as part of the Operation Safer and Stronger initiative.

MAN ARRESTED FOR SELLING COCAINE

A Ventura man has been arrested for selling and distributing narcotics in the area after the Ventura County Sheriff’s Gang Unit conducted an enforcement operative near Ventura Avenue in Ventura.

Officers observed several hand to hand narcotics transactions in the 40 block of West Ramona St.. 

With the assistance from Ventura Police Department Investigators, Sheriff’s Gang Unit detectives identified Adolfo Gonzalez as the individual responsible for distributing cocaine from his residence. 

Subsequently a search warrant was obtained for Mr. Gonzalez’ residence and served on April 15.

During the search, 196 grams of cocaine, 1,173 grams (2.53 pounds) of marijuana, 15 mature marijuana plants, a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun and ammunition, $4,300 and evidence of a Butane Honey Oil (BHO) laboratory were seized. 

Mr. Gonzalez was arrested for violations of Health and Safety Code 11351 – Possession for sales of cocaine,  11358 – Cultivating Marijuana, 11379.6(a) – Manufacturing concentrated cannabis, among other charges. 

The suspect was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility and his bail was set at $250,000.

Butane Honey Oil laboratories are extremely dangerous with a propensity for large explosions.

SCAM IN GAS STATIONS IN CARP

Due to the latest increase in credit/debit card fraud and identity theft the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department (SBCSD) is warning the community of illegal credit card skimming devices placed on gasoline/fuel pumps.

A few have recently been located in the South County, more specifically in  Carpinteria.

One way thieves are obtaining victim’s credit and debit card information is through the use of card skimming devices being surreptitiously placed in pumps. 

When a person swipes their debit or credit card into the pay station on the fuel pump, these illegal devices capture the card and pin information. 

The thieves then use the stolen information to commit identity theft and other financial crimes. 

Losses from an undetected single illegal skimming device on a fuel pump can be between $50,000 and $100,000.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Dept. encourages the public to consider the following steps when purchasing fuel in order to reduce the risk of being victimized by identity thieves:

If the seals/stickers are broken, cut or read “VOID,” do not use that pump and immediately report any observations to gas station personnel.

NEWS ANCHOR P.LOPEZ SENTENCED

Former KCOY 12 news anchor Paula Lopez Ochoa pled no contest to one count of driving under the influence, two counts of delaying or resisting a peace officer, one count of refusing a chemical test, and one count of battery on a peace officer.

In a settlement reached by the prosecution and defense last Friday morning, Mrs. Lopez is to serve 120 days in county jail, abstain from alcohol for three years, obey all laws, and attend three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week for three years.

The prosecutor and defense attorney for Mrs. Lopez appeared in Santa Barbara County Superior Court where they met with Judge Thomas Andele privately.

Odd enough, cameras and other recording devices have been banned from Lopez’s court proceedings.

Mrs. Lopez husband Frank Ochoa for over 15 years was a Judge in the SB Court System. ν

After the private meeting, Judge Andele also ordered to the ex news personality that every six months she will be required to provide proof of completion.

Mrs. Lopez’s sentencing terms also includes taking the anti-alcohol drug Antiabuse for three years, and attend counseling as directed by her mental health counselor.

Additionally, Mrs. Lopez will be required to complete a nine-month DMV-licensed DUI driver education course.

Mrs.Lopez will remain on probation during the next three years and is subject to a possible maximum three years in county jail if she violates any term of her probation and she will begin her sentence in July 2016.

Mrs. Lopez was arrested in September 2015 for DUI and battery on a peace officer.

CHACHUMA LAKE

A special barge is on Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara County to install pilings for a new water line extension.

The current line is in an area where the lake has dropped due to the drought.

The extension will pick up fresh water and bring it to the Tecolote Tunnel.  From there it goes to the South Coast communities including Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito and Carpinteria.

The piles are being pounded into the base of the lake with a special tool, but campground guests did not seem to be impacted by the noise which is well out from the shoreline.    

Cachuma Operations officials say the pipeline segments are nearby and should be hooked up to carry water within 60 days.

SM MAN GETS BEAT BY THIEVES

SMPD officers responded to the intersection of Park and Smith Street for the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male down on the ground suffering from head injuries.

The investigation revealed that the victim was approached by two Hispanic male adults in a white 4-door sedan who demanded money. The victim failed to comply with the suspects’ demands and was subsequently attacked by the assailants. The victim briefly loss consciousness before waking up and discovering undisclosed personal property missing from his person.

The victim was transported to Marian Medical Center for serious head trauma and is listed in serious condition.

The SMPD detectives and crime scene technicians were called out to take over the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
